Preston Hills Master Bathroom

An outdated corner tub and cramped shower were transformed into a spacious, zero-threshold walk-in shower that blends beauty with accessibility. Opening the layout allows the space to feel light, open, and immediately inviting.

Soft gray porcelain tile flows seamlessly from the floor into the shower, while a transom-style window replaces the former picture window, maintaining natural light with added privacy. Designed as a true retreat, the shower features built-in benches and discreet grab bars that offer comfort and support without sacrificing style.

A marble herringbone shower wall anchors the design with timeless elegance, completing a bathroom that balances tranquility, accessibility, and elevated design, luxury without compromise.

Before

Before the renovation, the bathroom was dominated by an oversized corner tub and a tight, enclosed shower tucked beside it. The step-up tub deck and confined shower made everyday use less convenient, and the layout didn’t support long-term ease of movement. The client’s main goal centered on replacing the outdated corner tub and shower with a spacious, zero-threshold walk-in shower for enhanced accessibility.

The window above the bathtub was oversized and lacked privacy. A smaller sized window was needed to provide privacy while still allowing ample natural light. It was important to choose fixtures, finishes, and lighting that work together to evoke a sense of tranquility, while feeling luxurious yet thoughtfully designed for accessibility.

Plans & Renderings

The transformation started with one major move: removing both the corner tub and the cramped shower to create a spacious, zero-threshold walk-in shower. It features two sleek benches that provide a
comfortable place to rest. Attractive grab bars are
strategically placed, blending seamlessly into the
design while offering reliable support.

Extending the tile flooring continuously from the bathroom floor into the shower would enhance the open, unified look of the space. Glazed wood cabinets warm up the cool gray palette, while champagne gold plumbing fixtures and the lightly patterned quartz countertop would bring texture and subtle luxury to the design.
