McDowell Mountain Ranch Kitchen

This kitchen remodel began with a small, tucked-away space that felt closed off and dated, hardly a place that invited anyone to linger. By removing the partition wall and the awkward overhead soffit, the kitchen was opened to the rest of the home, instantly improving light, sightlines, and connection to the surrounding living areas.

Outdated finishes and laminate countertops were replaced with quartz, updated cabinetry, new flooring, and modern fixtures. Two-tone cabinetry added depth and storage, while statement pendant lighting created a warm focal point.

What was once an overlooked kitchen is now a bright, welcoming space that feels intentional, stylish, and central to everyday life.

Project Completed: 2024

Before

The original kitchen was a broken space that felt disconnected from the rest of the home. A partition wall and bulky overhead soffit visually lowered the ceiling and limited natural light, making the room feel darker and more confined. Overall, the space lacked storage, modern upgrades, refreshed interior finishes, and decorative appeal.

Plans & Renderings

The plan was to remove the partition wall and eliminate the overhead soffit to increase ceiling height, improve connection to surrounding rooms, and allow light to move freely throughout the space. The electrical wiring would also be rerouted into the floor from the overhead soffit.

The refridgerator would be seamlessly integrated into the modernized cabinetry. The two-tone cabinet scheme would feature white upper cabinets and a contrasting color on the lower cabinets to create depth and visual interest all while maximizing storage.
