What began as a do-it-yourself bathroom demolition became more than the homeowners wanted to tackle after they uncovered a damaged subfloor. Rosie Right stepped in to address the structural issues, complete the renovation, and preserve the character of the home’s Hacienda-inspired architecture.
Rich Saltillo tile grounds the space, while rustic alder cabinetry and a dramatic green-gray quartzite countertop with warm rust and gold veining add texture and character. The arched shower entry, patterned tile, and brushed gold fixtures create a natural focal point.
Arched black-framed mirrors, contemporary sconces, natural wood shelves, a woven pendant, and a freestanding tub with decorative gold feet bring in modern comfort without losing the home’s warm Southwestern identity. The finished bathroom feels collected, functional, and true to the home.
Project Completed: 2026

The homeowners had already begun demolition when damage to the subfloor made the project more complex. The room still held a long double vanity, wall-to-wall mirror, beige carpet, and dated tile, while opened walls and flooring revealed the repairs needed before new finishes could begin.
With the space stripped back, the renovation required both structural correction and careful design planning. The goal was to improve function, simplify circulation, and create a more refined bathroom while respecting the home’s Hacienda character.
Planning reorganized the bath around a freestanding tub, double vanity, enclosed water closet, and arched walk-in shower. The revised layout makes better use of the room’s footprint while keeping key sight lines open.
Renderings established the Southwestern palette before construction: Saltillo flooring, warm wood cabinetry and shelves, patterned tile, green-gray stone, arched forms, woven lighting, and brushed gold fixtures. These materials guided the finished room and helped the modern details feel at home in the original architecture.
